Sydney to Brisbane - Part 2

Rose early to watch the sunrise at the farm, despite being warm in bed after a cold night. It was worth getting up early to sit on a bench and watch cows wake up and tear mouthfuls of grass out of the ground. Turns out cows tread their own paths which become worn over time and follow them as a general group to various locations around the farmland. Was fun to watch one jog down the cow-made path to catch up to the group moving on after their breakfast much.

I had intended to ride inland to Deepwater and Tenterfield purely to enjoy a beer I haven’t found anywhere else but decided to take an easier ride to Coffs Harbour to watch the sea for a while then on to Grafton where I enjoyed a quiet evening watch calm reflections in the river and a renewed awareness and appreciation of the value people can place within themselves.

Next morning I rode a simple clear ride to Casino then up to Kyogle before turning right onto the beautiful Kyogle Road which was a beautiful pleasure to ride both for the road and the views.

Turned left and up onto another beautiful road – the Numinbah Road – to see Natural Bridge, a stunning walk of a few kilometres through lush forest with stunning sights everywhere.

Rode on up through Advancetown then into the Gold Coast where I treated myself to a drink at the pub and enjoyed a terrific meal before a restful night’s sleep in a humble but comfortable hotel.

Next morning I slept in before taking a ride through Tamborine Mountain..

..then riding into Brisbane to meet my good friend Pen who I’ve known for over half my life. We watched John Farnham sing, saw amazing sights and caught up over a few days while I worked in Brisbane at some great Excel and Outlook training sessions.

Upcoming is a flight to Sydney to work and spend time, followed by a flight to Adelaide for the same reasons. A flight to Darwin might follow (again for the same reasons) and finally a flight back to Brisbane where I’ll ride a great adventure back down to Sydney or Canberra. I can’t wait and have plenty of sights and experiences I’m looking forward to including that Deepwater Dark Ale and a two-night stay in a cabin nestled on another farm with beautiful hills to walk around and do my writing in. Happy days indeed and thanks for reading!
